The 2017 National Wage & Salary Survey, published December 2016, contains compiled data (aged to January 2017) from 21 states and 46 major metropolitan/regional areas. This survey is made possible by the cooperative efforts of 22 leading employer associations. Associations provided data between the spring and fall of 2016. All data were then adjusted accordingly for each geographic area. The 2017 National Wage & Salary Survey provides data for 151 benchmark positions. Such data are useful for companies with operations in multiple regions, for national recruiting, and for adjusting pay rates for transferred employees.

Benchmark jobs include:

  • Managerial, supervisory and professional positions
  • Office, clerical and technical positions
  • Industrial and production positions

Salary data are reported by city or regional identifier. Descriptive measures include:

  • Number of reporting organizations
  • Number of represented employees
  • Weighted Average
  • Median Pay Rate
